Week 2 - No loss - Little gain

Sorry to be late posting. My plan is to update each Monday, but we had a busy memorial Day. Today was quite busy as well so better late than never.

I appreciate all the comments that I received on my initial Twitter/Facebook update. It has been very encouraging!

My weight loss was a bit disappointing, but I am very pleased with my exercising. I reached my goal of 5 days a week and added a minute each time, so I am now up to 20 minutes on the elliptical. I want to focus on my exercising as my first goal and then work more on my diet. I have been better on portion control and trying to eat more healthy so that has been a good step as well.

One thing that I looked at as far as exercise was to think about how I have been successful in the past. Several years back, I was exercising regularly when I worked out at lunch. Since I am working close to home now, this is an easy option for me, so if I don't get up early enough to work out in the morning, I use lunch time as my back up, which this last week was every time. Think about a time when exercising worked for you and see if that will work for you now. I welcome any comments on how you make exercise work for you.

Now for the weekly stats:

Weekly Stats Current: 322.8 Weekly Loss: +0.2 % Weight Loss: +.06%. To Go: 147.8 Total 2.2 Exercise - 5/5 Days - 20 minutes

A weight gain of .2 lbs is not reaching my goal of two lbs a week, but considering that in the past a long weekend usually meant overeating, I am glad it wasn't a big weight gain. I think next weeks update will be better.

  1. Some days it works for me to break up the 30 min of cardio into 10-15 min. increments. If it's going to be a busy day, and I do 10 min here and there, if I come to the end of the day it's easier to jump on the elliptical for 10 min then the full 30.

  2. They say that you get the same benefit when you do that and even if not, it is tons better than not doing anything at all.
